Cameron "Cami" Raach Kwan
Hello! My name is Cami Kwan, and I am a stop-motion animator and puppet fabricator from Portland, Oregon. I recently graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. In addition to stop-motion animation and puppet fabrication, I am also skilled in 2D animation and character design, with additional experience in 3D modeling. My passion is creating unique, authentic characters and stories that break stereotypes and provide kids with a diverse range of role models to look up to. I am inspired by shows such as Steven Universe, Avatar: The Last Airbender, the Legend of Korra, Gravity Falls, and TumbleLeaf.
In addition to a major in Film and Animation, I also have a minor in philosophy and a solid background in physics, which has given me a highly diverse educational background. When I'm not animating or studying, I love coaching CrossFit and working with kids! I'm a CrossFit coach for kids and adults, as well as an Assistant Coach for a high school Science Olympiad team. I recently completed my senior thesis Baile de los Muertos, a stop-motion film about the Day of the Dead, or, el Dia de los Muetros. If you're interested in learning more about the process/making of the film, please feel free to check out my production blog here! To view the film itself, please see it here! (Password: Abi) |
